Con la dificultad viene la facilidad/With Hardship Comes Ease

Hay un verso de la Surah Ash-Sharh que últimamente tiene un significado especial para mí:

“Fa-inna ma‘a al-‘usri yusrā.”
“Ciertamente, con la dificultad viene la facilidad.”
Corán 94:5

Durante mucho tiempo es fácil entender este verso como si Allah nos dijera: “Después de la dificultad vendrá la facilidad”. Pero no es eso lo que dice.

Dice “ma‘a al-‘usri”, CON la dificultad.

No dice que primero tienes que terminar de sufrir y luego llegará el alivio. Dice que, mientras existe la dificultad, también existe la facilidad. Quizás todavía no la vemos. Quizás estamos tan centrados en lo que duele, en lo que hemos perdido o en lo que no entendemos, que aún no somos capaces de reconocerla.

Y Allah repite el mensaje inmediatamente:

“Fa-inna ma‘a al-‘usri yusrā.
Inna ma‘a al-‘usri yusrā.”

“Con la dificultad viene la facilidad.
Ciertamente, con la dificultad viene la facilidad.”

Ahora mismo este verso me enseña algo que necesito recordar. No tengo que esperar a que todo termine para buscar la facilidad de Allah. Puede estar ya presente dentro de la propia prueba.

Puede estar en una oración. En una enseñanza. En una puerta que Allah cierra. En otra que empieza a abrir. En encontrar fuerzas que antes no sabías que tenías. En acercarte más a Él cuando todo lo demás parece incierto.

La dificultad y la facilidad no siempre llegan una después de la otra.

A veces caminan juntas.

“Fa-inna ma‘a al-‘usri yusrā.”

Con la dificultad viene la facilidad.

 

There is a verse from Surah Ash-Sharh that has taken on a special meaning for me lately:

“Fa-inna ma‘a al-‘usri yusrā.”
“Indeed, with hardship comes ease.”

It is easy to understand this verse as if Allah were saying, “After hardship, ease will come.” But this is not what the verse says.

It says, “ma‘a al-‘usri”, WITH hardship.

It does not say you first have to finish suffering and then relief will arrive. It says that while hardship exists, ease exists with it too. Perhaps we do not see it yet. Perhaps we are so focused on what hurts, what we have lost, or what we do not understand, that we have not yet recognised it.

And Allah repeats the message immediately:

“Fa-inna ma‘a al-‘usri yusrā.
Inna ma‘a al-‘usri yusrā.”

“Indeed, with hardship comes ease.
Indeed, with hardship comes ease.”

Right now, this verse is teaching me something I need to remember. I do not have to wait until everything is over before looking for the ease Allah has placed in my life. It might already be present within the trial itself.

It might be found in prayer. In a lesson. In a door Allah closes. In another door beginning to open. In finding strength you did not know you had. In becoming closer to Him when everything else feels uncertain.

Hardship and ease do not always come one after the other.

Sometimes they come together.

“Fa-inna ma‘a al-‘usri yusrā.”

With hardship comes ease.
